Tips on taking good photos
Make sure you're not towering over your pet. Try to get down to their eye-level and snap photos, unless you're looking for something a little quirkier and you want them looking up at the camera. Also be cognizant of the distance between you and your subject. If you're really close, your pet will end up with a nose that looks a lot bigger - but some people like that too - it can make for a funny painting, if that's what you're after. I suggest you get your pet in natural light with their face toward or partially toward the light. Snapping a photo with their face in shade won't do much to highlight their eyes, which is important in order to capture their true expression. Eyes are the window to the soul, after all. Paintings often look better when the subject's head is slightly turned from the camera. Beautiful photos don't always make for the best paintings - the subject might be too far away to get enough detail or there might be too much shade, etc. But, send me your photos and, together we can pick the best one. :)
